Metabolism is the foundation of life, and is closely related to diseases. Tumor cells have distinct preference on utilizing nutrients such as glucose, amino acids, lipids, trace elements, etc., known as metabolic reprogramming. Emerging evidence suggests that the metabolic intermediates have impact on tumor progression and treatment. The Qian laboratory is interested in studying the roles of nutrient sensing in tumor malignancy, including:

1) The sensing of nutrient intermediate metabolites for tumor progression

2) The sensing of trace elements for tumor progression.
